Prayer Menu
Last updated: October 29, 2026
This policy explains what information the Alexa skill Prayer Menu, published by VOICEMK, uses, why it uses it, and how you can ask for it to be deleted. It applies to every version of the skill, in every language.
1. Who is responsible
The skill is developed and maintained by VOICEMK (voicemk.net). For any privacy question, write to voicemk.net@gmail.com.
2. What the skill stores
Alexa sends the skill an anonymous identifier that Amazon creates for each account that enables the skill. This identifier does not reveal your name, email, phone number or address. Linked to it, the skill stores only what it needs to remember where you left off:
- how many prayers you have prayed with the skill (a counter);
- your favorite prayer, if you choose one;
- a prayer offering in progress: which prayer, how many times, and the intention you spoke (see section 3);
- where you stopped in the Rosary, the Divine Mercy Chaplet or the Chaplet of Saint Joseph, so you can continue later;
- in versions that offer homilies, the audio you were listening to and the point where you stopped.
This information is used only to make the skill work. It is not sold, rented or used for advertising.
3. Prayer intentions
When you offer prayers for an intention, the skill stores the text of the intention you spoke, so it can repeat it before each prayer and let you resume the offering later. The intention is deleted when the offering ends or when you start a new one.
We recommend not including in your intention anything you would rather not have recorded, such as full names, health details or other personal information. VOICEMK does not read, analyze or share intentions.
4. Your name in greetings
If you grant permission in Alexa, the skill may sometimes greet you by your first name. It uses an Amazon feature in which Alexa itself speaks the name from a code: VOICEMK never receives or stores your name.
You can withdraw this permission at any time in the skill's settings in the Alexa app.
5. Date and time zone
To know the liturgical day or which mysteries of the Rosary to pray, the skill reads the time zone set on your Alexa device. This information is used at that moment and is not stored.
6. What the skill does not collect
- email, phone number or postal address;
- physical location;
- contact lists;
- payment or card details;
- recordings of your voice (recordings are handled by Amazon under the Alexa privacy policy).
The skill is not directed to children.
7. Amazon product suggestions
At times the skill may suggest a book sold by Amazon. If you decide to buy it, the purchase is handled entirely by Amazon. VOICEMK does not receive payment or delivery details.
8. Where data is kept and for how long
The data in section 2 is stored on Amazon Web Services (AWS) servers in the São Paulo region, Brazil, with access restricted to VOICEMK. If you use the skill from another country, this means your data is processed in Brazil. It is kept for as long as you use the skill. Technical operation logs, used to fix errors, are kept by AWS for a limited time.
We do not share this data with third parties, except Amazon itself, which operates Alexa and the infrastructure the skill runs on.
9. Your rights and how to delete your data
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, as provided by data protection laws such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and similar laws in other countries.
- In the Alexa app: when you disable the skill, Amazon stops sending the anonymous identifier; if you enable it again, a new identifier is created and the old data is no longer linked to your account.
- By email: write to voicemk.net@gmail.com. We will reply within 15 days.
10. Homilies, readings and other third-party audio
Some features of the skill play homilies, readings and other audio recorded by priests, communities and Catholic media. VOICEMK does not copy, download or host these files: the skill only plays the audio directly from the address where its author already publishes it openly, such as their podcast feed. The rights to this audio belong to its authors.
When one of these recordings plays, your Alexa device fetches the file from the server of the author or of the platform where it is published. That server may receive technical connection data, under its own privacy policy.
If you are the author or rights holder of audio used by the skill and do not want it played, write to voicemk.net@gmail.com saying which content it is. We will remove it from the skill within 7 days, no reason required.
11. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with its update date.
